Register NOW for the Prairie Ridge PBIS Camp (formerly known as Leadership Camp) to be held on Friday, August 9, 2013, beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Your child can join other Prairie Ridge 6^th grade students as we kick off the 2013-2014 school year with this fun opportunity. Your child will meet students from other elementary schools, learn PBIS skills, meet Prairie Ridge staff members and receive a Jaguar t-shirt.  Complete the registration form by May 31.  Detach and fill out the bottom portion of this flyer and include a check payable to Prairie Ridge Middle School for $25.00 (adjustable for families who are eligible for free or reduced fees). Please make sure you send your registration form and check to Prairie Ridge Middle School. 

The L.E.A.D. Council students presented a school wide assembly reviewing the highlights of the past year to all the students. Check out their power point and learn what the 6^th grade students have to look forward to in 7^th grade. Any 6^th grade student interested in applying for L.E.A.D. Council member for the fall needs to pick up an application from the main office and all applications must be signed by the parent or guardian and returned to the office no later than Tuesday, May 21 by 3:45 p.m. The selection process will be complete by Friday, May 24. There will be 24 members selected from among the applications and John Stratton will be the L.E.A.D. Council sponsor for 2013-2014.

 

 

The L.E.A.D. Council (Leading Prairie Ridge Effectively through Action and Dedication) provides opportunities for students to actively engage in the preparation and practice of effective leadership. The Council’s purpose is to instill ownership of the school’s culture by allowing students to engage in activities which enhance the school’s environment. Students learn and practice the skills of effective leadership through service, social, and academic activities. Our building goal of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) will play an integral part of our overall school climate this fall. Your role in leading other students to Be Safe, Be Responsible and Be Respectful will be very important.
