7th Grade Social
The Prairie Ridge 7th-grade Dress-Up Social is Friday, April 10, from 4:00-6:00 PM. The 7th-graders are invited to celebrate with their classmates a fun and successful year at Prairie Ridge. The cost to attend is $7.00.  Lead Council will be selling pizza for $2.00, water $1.00, pop .50.  A DJ will play music in the Main Gym. We ask that students dress up, however, no prom dresses or tuxes please.

7th Grade Spring Chorus Concert

The 7th Grade Chorus performance will be held on Tuesday, April 27th.
  • 6:30PM - 7th Grade Treble Clef Concert (women)
  • 7:30PM - 7th Grade Bass Clef Concert (men)
Students should plan to be at school 15 minutes prior to their performance.  

Dress for the concert:
  • Black pants or skirts (no jeans, shorts or athletic pants)
  • White Prairie Ridge music t-shirt or a plain white shirt
  • If you have any questions about concert dress, please feel free to contact any of the Prairie Ridge music staff



6th Grade Spring Chorus Concert

The 6th Grade Chorus performances will be held on Tuesday, May 5th.
  • 6:30PM - Students from 6th hour A & B day choirs
  • 7:30PM - Students from 4th hour A & B day choirs and from 8th hour choir

Incoming 6th Grade Transition Presentation
Prairie Ridge held a transition meeting for fifth-grade students and their parents on the transition to 6th grade at Prairie Ridge Middle School. This meeting included information on student schedules, enrichment courses, and after-school supplemental programming. View the Powerpoint presentation here for information shared at this meeting. If you have questions, please feel free to call the Prairie Ridge Middle School office at 965-9705.

Prairie Ridge Middle School Student Places in Iowa Essay Contest
Prairie Ridge Middle School seventh grader Ellie Wilson received third place, and was one of eight students across Iowa to place in the 31st Annual Write Women Back into History Essay Contest. Wilson was recognized at the State Historical Building in Des Moines on March 12.  Read more about Wilson's honor here.

Ankeny Community Education (CE) is sure to keep you and your children busy this summer with a variety of class opportunities!  Registration is now underway!  Youth course options include robotics, video game design, Circus Academy, and more.  Adult class options include Zumba®, Tai Chi, yoga, and more.

Interpreting your student's Iowa Assessments scores:
In January, Ankeny students took the Iowa Assessments test, which replaced the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Iowa Tests of Education Development (ITED).  Test results are now being sent home to parents.  Ankeny Schools provide several resources to help you interpret your student’s test scores.   It is recommended that you review this online information.
